I did it. I finally bought a piano. It's an 88-key (weighted) portable keyboard that sounds and feels like a real piano. Oh my goodness. I'm so excited. : ) And I just spent the past hour playing it. But I made myself stop because I must get some sleep -- though I could probably play all night (and because it has a headphone jack, I don't have to worry about waking my sleeping roommates).
I have a piano.
And it's downstairs just waiting to be played.

I finally bought a piano!

The headphone jack on electronic keyboards is SUCH a great feature. Not only to avoid making noise... I found I could always "zone out" better, be less distracted by stuff, when I'd practice with headphones on.
Yippee!!! When Sarah told us last night I had to shout the news throughout the house!!! How exciting!!! We are so happy for you!!! I especially told Nathan first thing and he started asking questions, after all he is the one that has been the most vocal about you getting a piano. We're thrilled for you, but you still have to bring music when you come up! (That's the selfish part of me coming out, and that's also the bad thing about headphones, others don't get to join in the fun of hearing it.) Three cheers! Yippee! Yippee! Yippee! :)
Oh no, Dad, don't bring up that fateful recital. Try to forget it if you can -- I certainly want to... one of the worst experiences of my life.
Don't worry, Mama B, I'll still play at your house. :)
